s000, after having so much time to test out the capabilities of my PS3, I have decided to post here a few of my experiences.

So before Christmas in 2008, I won this prize pack, with an 80GB PS3, 8GB Sony Walkman MP4 player, a Sony Cybershot 10.1MP camera (T77), and some Sony Noise Cancelling Earbuds ( which I promptly gave to d00dism, as an early birthday present.) Obviously it was a Sony prize pack.

s0 watchin Tekzilla, I think, off of internode the other week, their one of their featured websites on the episode was Codeorgan. So of course.. I put in a couple websites that I use rather often.. google.com, and nasa.gov both had surprisingly catchy tunes to them, rather nice.. But of course, once I gave teamipx.net a run through, I nearly had a heart attack or something.. haha

Give a few websites that you know and love (or hate) a try through codeorgan.com =)

For The Love Of ROD!!!!

Oh.. you guys, sooo, don’t know what kinda day I’ve had.

No sleep, there’s a start. Two doctors appointments, there’s another. Breaking down after my second appointment… Soo uncool..

Not electrical problems this time.. Seems that the fuel pump has gone ( or worse, the engine has been gutted by E10).

Now see.. Things go like this, alright?

Ive spend the last 3-4 days, having loads of fun with that new tilt tray with winch in Rigs of Rods..

http://teamipx.net/blog/hashy/2010/01/30/rigs-of-rods-0363-yearly-crash

Cant you see where this is going??

The next thing I know, the tow truck is there.. Performing the same perverse act of pulling a car up a tilted tray with a winch that I have been practicing the past 3 days or more.

Hate to steal your fire Shad.. But, seriously.. WTF!!??!!!

This is one of those, if I had actually had some sleep situations, it would have felt more surreal. Kicking myself for not bringing my camera…

Ill level with you.. I have not had a haircut since the 2008 Worlds Greatest Shave which we participated in. I think I’m about due, although I have learned how to tie hair elastics by now. So I think this is as good a excuse as any, and we have soo many more members now.. With, so so many more pockets to dig into! So without further ado, I will not be presenting my own WGS creepy chin video, I thought about it, and decided to hold you all to ransom! If we don’t meet our group target of $1,500, I will make a creepy chin video, and that.. I will not shave! BAHAHHAHA

Rigs of Rods 0.36.3 Yearly Crash!

So this years crash for Rigs of Rods was actually..heh.. An accident ;p

screenshot_1

What happened was, I was testing out, yet again, the issues that I have with near extreme lag when a vehicle comes within too close a proximity to another. Something to do with the collision boxes I imagine, not sure at this stage, its a nagging issue, as it does stop you from being able to enjoy the full extent of what RoR has to offer.. its just, not the most fun, when your not able to dangle a skip loader in mid air with a crane because its too laggy.. But still, Rigs has continued to be developed, and just always gets that little big sweeter with each release!

Australia - Medicinal Marijuana. Your Support is Needed.

This is simply about MEDICAL MARIJUANA LAWS WITHIN AUSTRALIA. I frankly, will not put another second of effort, into such a campaign like “R18+ Video Game Laws in Australia”, when there are seriously more important issues being trampled over.

If Medicinal Marijuana is something you disagree with, FINE. Have your say, THEN F**K OFF.

This is about the people who suffer in this country ( and many many others around the world with similiar, or more barbaric laws) from chronic illness’ and pain, and are given no pharmacological treatment that is effective for their condition. Quiet simply, because what is available ( a lovely variety of opioid ( HEROIN) based drugs to choose from) is either non effective, or, THE ALTERNATIVE DOES NOT EXIST.

35 Terabyte Magnetic Cartridges, by IBM & Fujifilm

m0rnin..

So something I had thought about from time to time.. Gazing out or collection of hundreds of VHS.. What sort of revivals will become for the blessed magnetic storage media that has gotten us where we are today.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/New-Magnetic-Tape-Cartridge-Holds-35-Tera...

Quiet suitable for the mass backing up/storage of secure-cam footage. I’m rather sure it would be susceptible to the usual suspects when it comes to magnetic tapes. Mostly wear and tear, and environmental degradation factors.

The one big solar storm that will fry every unprotected electrical circuit, powerline, transformer IN THE WORLD, I think is pretty sure to scramble all of our magnetic storage media too ( Hard drives..Ohh yes.. ESPECIALLY WESTERN DIGITALS!!).

But still, it is nice to see how much they can squeeze out of the old types of technology. Still has it uses. =)

Star Trek Online: taH pagh, taH be ?

m0rnin,

So for the past week or so, I’ve been trying out the Star Trek Online Open Beta. Being the lifelong trek fan that I am, I felt I needn’t let the opportunity slip by, as new Star Trek games have been few and far between the past few years now. In the early 2000’s there was an over abundance of Trek games. Sure, most of them were crap.

Star Trek Online probably, most of the time, plays more like the Starfleet Command series of games. However, your not always confined to space battles. You can beam to select planets, as part of missions, and participate in ground based stages, very similiar to most MMO combat (click your enemy, and keep clicking!!!), as well as to certain stations to trade, and receive new missions.

Umm.. We already know… Thanks for telling the mindless masses for us tho.

In other news

http://www.crn.com.au/News/164991,isps-pilot-box-to-test-australian-broa...

Australian ISP’s are to pilot test a broadband internet performance metering device (its really a content filter) for the Department of Broadband, Communications, and the Digital Economy (heh..). ISP’s will be selecting at random, special lucky prize winners to “try out” their new device.

So yeah, you heard it officially from the Australian government. Microsoft sucks.

This completes the intended upgrades to my core system, anyone have some links to a good benchmarking program?, I can get some figures out there for us to look at.

So my system currently stands as being:

  • AMD Phenom X4 9550
  • 4GB system RAM ( 2x Kingston sticks, DDR3 maybe, if not, DDR2)
