CS:GO for linux beta available and left 4 dead is now uncut

CS:GO finally available as a beta

i figured out how to block steam from downloading it from any server but telstra so i could actually install it with my 8 GB of data :) it runs well didnt see any performance issues. mic’s dont work yet(was the same with L4D2 in its early beta) and i had the ui screw up a few times but not a bad beta release

also L4D2 is now uncut in Australia. if you got the low violence version theres a free dlc to switch…. so much better uncut!!!

Chivary for Linux?

saw this posted on reddit today

https://www.facebook.com/Chivalrythegame/photos/a.375448502494830.86460....
http://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/2ftlau/chivalry_coming_soo...

looks promising chivalry might be heading to linux ofcourse one of the first comments you see is some entitled windows user posting something like this:
“Can’t you just fix the bugs instead of focusing on idiotic shit like this? Wow… “ – Some Windows Bridge Dweller who is already enjoying chivalry and doesn’t want to share his toys

if it does come out it will probably be one of the ones i pick up next sale along with borderlands 2(and the pre sequel) and a million other linux titles that have yet to be announced :)

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel coming to linux! borderlands 2 too?

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel(http://steamdb.info/app/261640/) has been confirmed a few times by the developers. only showing win icon on the steam store but i think thats only just to protect them if the 3rd party porting company is a little slower(im guessing this is aspyr’s work(http://www.aspyr.com/games/borderlands-2) they did borderlands 2 for mac and has just started porting to linux(their first and only atm is civ 5). could be feral too but i doubt it(they did borderlands 1 and gave linux users xcom))

dont know what you guys think about The Pre-Sequel. i loved borderlands 1 and the only thing that sucked about it was the last boss and the fact i played it on the ps3! i skipped borderlands 2 because i didnt want to do the whole controller thing a 2nd time but have seen a few lets plays and looks as awesome and way bigger than the original. the trailers looks like this games going to be awesome too really cant wait for this game

Another one bites the dust(WD Green HDD's)

the last of my WD green HDD’s has finally started to show signs of failure(already hit and miss with recording according to smartctl its been powered for 3.5 years had it for about 4 would be my guess) i needed more space anyway not a bad drive was dirt cheap and kinda slow but worked well for what i used it for(it handles mostly recordings which prob helped in its fate more then anything and used to hold my videos with another 2TB green till that one failed and i ran out of space. was being used for steam games but now just started to reuse it to expand my video collection)

thinking of replacing it with something like this: WD3003FZEX http://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/Products-details.phtml?id=10&id2=129&...

* oneday i should do a post about mythtv its such a good media center solution and most of the development is focused on linux(although mac/and to a far lesser extent windows works with reduced features) :)

Terraria soon to be on linux?

posted on a devs twitter:
https://twitter.com/Cennxx/status/491691425592279040

so looks like they have ported it to monogame or something and got it working on mac and linux.

there was an unofficial fan made monogame wrapper for this already(i think its out of date now and doesnt work) but its awesome that its finally coming to linux(and mac). never played it and havent picked it up because it wasnt officially on linux hopefully theres a sale when they do release the patch alot of people on my friends list play it and think its a good game

Mount + Blade Warband Free weekend and darksiders coming out for linux soon

mount and blade is kinda cool singleplayers a sandbox with combat kinda like what i imagine chivilary is. multiplayer had a lag issue(known bug not sure if new version fixed it) on linux and is just the battles(no trying to be king/queen). the graphics look like they belong in the late 90’s but its still worth checking out during the free weekend

also darksiders now confirmed to have been worked on(https://twitter.com/TheIneQuation/status/487612207149359104) its done by the same guy who ported painkiller HD and Deadfall adventures(both good ports and awesome SP games with unfortunately dead MP). darksiders 2 isnt being worked on yet but its hinted it might be started soon(https://twitter.com/TheIneQuation/status/487622154880823296)

from what i hear darksiders should be really awesome cant wait!!!
