Game quality is worse than this time last year agreed. In general I don’t buy into the hysteria of the games going to die, yada yada yada. It comes up from time to time, but never happens. It’s been around for 100 years, if Super League couldn’t kill it, nothing will. Same can be said for the other major codes in Australia. They’ll always be there.
In the meantime, with no Parramatta heroics to show links of this year (well not many), I will link to something I’ve been waiting for for years.
Someone to finally attempt a long field goal. And it be behind halfway. And it to make it. AND it to hit the cross bar.
I remember attempting 40 metre ones at Warrimoo oval over and over. Could routinely kick a 35m goal, but I swear it took me 100 shots to finally land a 40m one. I’m not normally a Benji Marshall fan, but I must tip my hat for this effort. They won by 1 point in the end. (Hats off to the commentators too who were talking longest ever field goals right before the kick).
One last thanks to Shad for bringing up league and giving me a chance to send you links about it :)
I dare anyone to bring up the NBA… I could talk for hours.
One of the few times I’m actually sitting down and watching the NRL, and someone pulls off this piece of awesome. Not enough to convince me to give money to the NRL, but still a classy piece of rugby league.
