It was time to leg it out of town, the sun was setting and I need to get that gash looked at. If I didnt find safety soon, I was going to bleed to death. With no one around to help, being stuck in a pitch black town full of walkers in my state would surely mean my end.
The sun had set some hours ago and the sound of gun shots from the town below rang in my ears, it was close by but far enough that I knew that I would be fine. The only thing I feared more then getting eaten, was being shot. Its a hard life but when everyone is fighting to survive, humans are deadlier then walkers. I had eaten the last of my rations and left myself will little to attend to further wounds. The bleeding had stopped, but I was still in bad shape. Im just lucky I didnt lose any more blood or I might have to find some blood packs for a transfusion. One thing was for sure, I needed to find some friendlies or at the very least, brave going back into to town for further supplies. I do remember passing a hospital and general store, but the large horde at my back would have ripped me apart had I cracked the windows to gain access. The pile of dead bodies I passed outside the apartments was warning against it. If they could take down a group, I stood little chance of getting away. Maybe tomorrow they might have moved on, or even better, chased that poor bastard down there out of town. Maybe if I travel a little further into the woods, I can get some rest and see what the day brings. Thats all we can hope for now… just one more day.
