Revisions for Counter Strike Source - Team IPX Operation Office Eagle?

Battlefield 3 is right at our doorsteps. More games be comin' down th' line almost faster then we can count. This is a step back into one o' th' classic first person shooter games e'er created, I'll warrant ye. A more original type o' FPS, Counter Strike: Source is th' remake o' th' original game in th' newer Source engine. It worked, Ya swabbie, ya bilge rat! It feels fer th' most part, like CS felt. 1.6 purists may not agree, but fer all intensive purposes it is th' same game, if not, in me own opinion, better then th' original.

So lets get down t' it shall we.

This will be a mostly open game. Good chance we will be playin' on a public server, so two thin's. Don’t stack one team too heavily an' unbalance th' game ( which will happen naturally anyway, as it does..), an' be on yer best behavior while in public, pass the grog! There be a lot o' jerks in CSS ( not as many as WoW, but I wouldn’t actually know because I NEVER played that sh!t) an' thin's can tend t' get a little o'er heated. People get aggressive, scallywags get abusive. The point is, don’t give it back. Yaaarrrrr, shiver me timbers Just ignore it an' move on, at th' very least, let it get yer adrenaline pumpin', because in this game yer gonna need it!

We should stick t' a classic map fer starters, preferably without snipers. That just seemed t' be th' trend fer awhile, times change, we might get into a sniper server instead, but it does ruin some maps, but hey, a well placed smoke can always ruin a snipers day.

I reckon we should go straight with Office. Its a classic, scallywags always play it, an' thar is not an awful lot t' learn about th' layout o' th' map, so its quicker an' easier t' get straight into.

I think it is important t' be playin' more then 1 type o' FPS game at a time, on a dead man's chest! The sharks will eat well tonight! What I mean is, alternatin' betwixt different types o' first person shooters can be good fer yer overall co ordination skills, an' if done correctly, improve yer performance in each o' th' games. So it would be great fer everybody t' come along, try some CSS, yo ho, ho

For those who dern't already have th' game, it is fairly cheap, $20 USD on Steam. I am willin' t' buy th' game fer one other who does not already have it an' is interested in joinin' in! =)

CS:S BETA : Right now it appears that thar is some kind o' Beta in th' works fer CSS. Fetch me spyglass, ya bilge rat! You MIGHT need t' download this an' play through this. I had trouble findin' servers on me original client. I installed th' beta, but couldnt find hardly any servers wordwide. So I went back t' normal CSS, an' it were bein' workin' as usual again, I'll warrant ye. So just sayin', ye might need t' download th' beta t' get normal css t' work properly, it might be a bug, or I might have made a mistake somewhere. If somebody could please check this out just t' make sure, would be a pain if ye have t' download all that just t' play what ye already have.

Finalization o' th' time an' date o' th' game is not definite at this time. (We might be all that hooked on BF3 we cant put it down fer weeks!)

Looks like Internode servers be where th' population is at th' moment. Only found one Games Arena server with scallywags on it, but like 5 on Internode, so that will likely be our best bet.

What am I missin'? Anythin'? Let me know, first time settin' up a challenge I think, I know its a bit messy.

Just make sure ye find that Counter Strike: Source Beta an' install that if yer havin' problems. Should be right.

Chosen games.on.net #05 (Office no sniper) as our default startin' ground. Please add all th' games.on.net CSS servers t' yer favourites list fer ease o' access, as well as th' games arena servers, just in case.
This server will be busy on a Friday night, but thar will be others suitable fer us t' switch o'er too. Will figure it out on th' night.
