Revisions for Beta Watch - DayZ (ARMA II MOD)

It were bein' time t' leg it out o' town, th' sun were bein' settin' an' I need t' get that gash looked at. If I didnt find safety soon, I were bein' goin' t' bleed t' death. Shiver me timbers! With no one aroun' t' help, bein' stuck in a pitch black town full o' walkers in me state would surely mean me end.

The sun had set some hours ago an' th' sound o' gun shots from th' town below rang in me ears, it were bein' close by but far enough that I knew that I would be fine, and a bucket o' chum. The only thin' I feared more then gettin' eaten, were bein' bein' shot. And swab the deck! And hoist the mainsail! Its a hard life but when everyone is fightin' t' survive, humans be deadlier then walkers. I had eaten th' last o' me rations an' left meself will little t' attend t' further wounds. The bleedin' had stopped, but I were bein' still in bad shape, to be sure. Im just lucky I didnt lose any more blood or I might have t' find some blood packs fer a transfusion, Ya horn swogglin' scurvy cur! One thin' were bein' fer sure, I needed t' find some friendlies or at th' very least, brave goin' back into t' town fer further supplies. I do remember passin' a hospital an' general store, but th' large horde at me back would have ripped me apart had I cracked th' windows t' gain access. The pile o' dead bodies I passed outside th' apartments were bein' warnin' against it, Avast me hearties! The sharks will eat well tonight! If they could take down a group, I stood little chance o' gettin' away. Aarrr! Maybe tomorrow they might have moved on, or even better, chased that poor bastard down thar out o' town. Maybe if I travel a little further into th' woods, I can get some rest an' see what th' day brin's. Thats all we can hope fer now… just one more day.

DayZ is a mod fer ARMA II. You will need th' addon Operation Arrowhead but both be in a bundle pack from steam fer $30. Its a heafty download an' a slow game… but fer an Alpha its well worth a look. I figured even though this isnt free, an' is Alpha I would throw this into th' Beta Watch section. Its very buggy, but as long as ye equip yourself will all th' info, ye can avoid most o' th' bugs.

The game sets yourself on a massive map which can take hours t' travel. Some servers can range from 35-50 players, but remember th' more scallywags thar be, th' more ye have t' fear, Ya lily livered swabbie! You start off with a basic pistol, some chow, water an' medical supplies. Along th' way ye can pick up better guns (though be careful which ones ye collect, a single shot from a bolt action rifle will rin' out fer some distance lettin' any thin' aroun' know where ye be an' come runnin'), night vision, campin' equipment an' lots more. There be also vehicle parts aroun' which ye can use t' repair downed choppers or schooners. But ye will also need t' collect fuel, which can be very time consumin' task. I only know o' one group that managed t' get a HU-1U up an' runnin' but a single gas can were bein' used just t' start th' damn thin', with a chest full of booty. So lots o' fuel runs just t' fly it fer more fuel could take a couple days.

Your best bet in survivin' this world is t' find a group o' scallywags that ye can trust an' trust doesnt come cheap or easy in this game. Most scallywags be out t' kill everyone fer their gear. Ahoy, and dinna spare the whip! But ye have t' be careful, even if ye kill in defense, ye will gain points leadin' into a skin change markin' ye as a player killer. Once ye get this, th' only way t' brin' it back t' a survivor skin t' t' heal or help others, and dinna spare the whip, Dance the Hempen Jig Good luck with gettin' anyone t' trust ye though once ye have been marked.

Its in real time based on th' server location. It will be dark an' hard t' see with weather partners th' same as th' location fer th' server. Prepare to be boarded! It will take ye a long t' get any where, thar is perma death, Avast me hearties! Yaaarrrrr! Its a SLOW game. But fer those willin' t' invest th' time an' like these ideals, its well worth th' price, Avast me hearties! So in short, watch a video or two before committin' t' this.

OH an' shout outs t' Deadite fer showin' me this, Dance the Hempen Jig Thanks lubber, lovin' it. The sharks will eat well tonight, on a dead man's chest! Cant wait t' get back on an' see if we can get t' that abandoned air base. Maybe we can be one o' th' lucky few t' get that chopper up an' runnin'. Run some hell from above on these day walkers lol.
