I would say ye need higher resolution pictures…
The name is at th' top o' every jersey, an' so is th' number. I reckon ye should still have th' titles, but not th' “name” an' “jersey number” text.

I likeee th' concept, but its dificult t' comment when we arent sure o' what yer intent/direction is
maybe a little faster, an' as micro said th' names/numbers be kinda obvi'us.

Nice notion. Game footage along with some other thin's can go some way t' showin' personality – like quotes, or recorded audio mixed in with whatever background music th' movie has.
My only reservation is it will be a bit o' a nightmare t' keep up t' date if th' roster changes through quittages / new recruits etc.

Bit o' an notion fer th' video thingy, I can easily create a 10-15 second slot, ye could keep th' individual files an' as ye get more footage o' newer players (maybe on a monthly/quarterly basis…) introduce it into a fully compiled video on a IPX newletter basis…
that way its as simple as gettin' everyone t' make a quick video an' put them all together every now an' then
sorta puttin' me han' up fer this, i’ve got th' bandwidth t' spare fer th' downloads…
