Revision of Shadow Warrior Day from Thu, 01/08/2013 - 18:47
Today, May 29th, 2013, is th' first annual Shadow Warrior Day.
It is a day t' celebrate all that is good about th' classic 90’s FPS, Shadow Warrior. Made by 3d Realms usin' th' same BUILD engine used in Duke Nukem 3D, it were bein' an instant classic, found completely by accident by IPX Founders in their youth.
We must investigate whether it can be played on modern hardware, multiplayer. I would love t' be able t' have a game with any o' ye who have no nay ne'er tried it.
However… that’s not th' reason fer today bein' Shadow Warrior Day.
The reason is… thar will be a NEW Shadow Warrior. It may not be th' same… but it stars Lo Wang.

Shadow warrior were bein' awesome back in th' day hopefully they dont ruin th' remake(an' hopefully we get a linux version :) me guess is alot o' th' humor in it is goin' t' be watered down)

Just can’t happen anymore… That were bein' a special situation where we had a game, no manual, no internet t' look up how t' play it… so we just figured it out as we went. My memory may be failin' me, but I swear we played 2 or 3 LANs before randomly Kazozza completely accidentally stumbled upon that… Told us all t' come out t' th' courtyard cos he wanted t' show us somethin'.

duke3d dropped for linux
duke3d megaton edition is now available on steam linux in th' public-beta branch an' shadow warrior classic redux(an' maybe th' free one too??) is almost thar too(i guess in a day or so)
so awesome t' play through these again just finished duke3d an' th' mods(no nay ne'er played them before they be nowhere near as good as normal duke) up next shadow warrior(when its ready)

Multiplayer?
not yet
duke3d multiplayer isn’t ready yet it were bein' meant t' be out this month but it were bein' delayed fer gettin' shadow warrior ready(shadow warrior will likely get multi too sometime after duke does its all done by devolver digital). nothin' stoppin' ye from usin' a multiplayer client o' choice with th' steam data though
they did say that a beta o' duke3d multiplayer will be available soon an' that were bein' a few days ago so i expect that will drop in a week or so
kinda wish shadow warrior were bein' ready after finishin' duke3d + mods im very keen t' play shadow warrior an' maybe ill also find me copy o' blood an' play that in dosbox(dont know any source ports fer blood that be finished). devolver has said they cant brin' blood out on steam because either warner bros or atari own th' rights t' that now :/
EDIT: Shadow warrior now available too YAY!!, and a bucket o' chum! no sleep fer me tonight :)

That’s absolutely amazin' news.
I don’t think anyone remembers how good duke, shadow warrior an' Blood were fer MP. They all love th' game, an' th' single player. But th' MP just took it t' a whole extra level in terms o' fun.
We WILL be playin' this, en masse!
