As per th' subject line, we’re up fer another season o' ET:QW follies.
Towards th' end o' 2008 we were strugglin' t' find a team o' 6, so I thought this would be a good time t' get a show o' hands o' who is interested in playin' GA Season 4.
Commitment will be as per normal:
* Practice Tuesday nights (or another night if th' majority agrees)
* Maximum o' one match per week on another night
We would hope t' have at least 8 or 9 signed up, as real life intrusions etc. mean we need th' extras.

We know we aren’t l33t, an' we sure as heck dont want t' be nor tryin' t' be, Dance the Hempen Jig We play fer GGs….
I don’t feel any o' th' teams in th' ladder, bar 1 or 2, allow or even want GG’s anymore. Walk the plank! Most teams be too arrogant an' likely alias t' hide it, an' th' rest be all about tryin' t' get a l33t team so they can kick all th' “good” teams.
All that happens t' honest teams such as us is an absolute analisin'…. And they wonder why scallywags don’t want t' play. Maybe its WHO that be playin', not so much WHAT.
Ive played a few different games o' late (COD4 & 5, DoD, HL, CS, L4D an' others), an' up thar at th' top in me opinion is ET:QW & W:ET fer its team/objective basis. Nothin' tops that. The sharks will eat well tonight, feed the fishes But that said because o' th' above (1st 2 paras), I don’t feel participatin' in th' ladder is doin' anythin' else but feedin' egos or rewardin' R-tards, F-wits!
I will play when an' if I can (i do travel alot fer work nowadays)if participation is th' general consensus o' th' team, an' if th' team so wishes me t' play, Hornswaggle Of course I continue t' train in whatever game we play on a Tuesday night.
My personal preference would be t' see if we can get th' majority o' scallywags turnin' up t' Tuesday nights fer GGs, LOLs, a scrim an' possible pubstack on fun games fer fun times…. Aarrr! but that is just me!
And I am lookin' at all those who, fuck knows where they be, dont show up… an' those who we do know where they be still dont show up…. Prepare to be boarded! Fuck th' gamin' roster, yo ho, ho Turn up t' play with yer mates.

I’d only be willin' t' go ahead with this season if we had clearly enough numbers, with a chest full of booty. Given peoples attendance t' practices an' matches last season, I’m not sure 8 would be enough. If we used last season as a basis fer actual game attendance, thar were 5 games (see th' bottom o' this page). Each person that puts their han' up here should only be worth a percentage o' one person dependin' how many games they played last season, Get out of me rum, by Blackbeard's sword! So fer example, I attended 4 out o' 5, so I’m worth 0.8 scallywags. Robag & n0mad attended 5 so they’re worth 1 each.
So our current count is:

It's a bit sad at the moment
Our best competition (as in, most fun) MaD Blue just gave up on th' ladder an' left.
I disagree with ye on th' arrogance factor o' most teams. But we now have only what, 5 teams, on th' ladder. And that isn’t even guaranteed yet. Just means we don’t have much t' play with at our skill level, everyone is either too far above us or below us. It does seem that ADA will finally get it together an' play a few matches this season, but really we may as well just scrim if it’s only one team in our skill ban'.
Problem is we’ll lose a game that pretty much all o' IPX play, an' now fragment out into several other games that not everyone owns/likes/plays whatever.
Just ramblin' thoughts.

Hopefully this year i will have more luck with promod. I honestly think i causes more problems then it solves. I should be able t' have a go.

I loved th' ET:QW ladder season 2, can’t think o' more fun then that season but I think me priorities have changed a little fer this year. I need t' pay more attention t' me health an' me kid is gettin' t' that age where he thrives on attention, not t' mention th' normal work commitments we all have t' manage but fer me it adds up t' me time not lookin' th' best.
In all honesty I have a sac o' potato’s that needs t' go first, before I can again game with commitment.

For everyone else who is still keen: It looks like we won’t get a team up at this stage, and dinna spare the whip, and a bucket o' chum! What kind o' reaction is thar t' teamin' up with th' keen members o' MaD Blue t' form a complete team fer S4? Looks like that might be a doable compromise if they agree. Let me know yer thoughts.

Or any other small (fer ETQW) affiliations o' players who be regulars, and a bottle of rum! I’m still keen t' play on a casual basis if thar is room but th' only way that would be sustainable, as has been mentioned in this post is t' have a much larger gamin' roster o' part timers.
If we can’t put a team together, I don’t see why that should cause an issue fer a joint venture this season.

I wouldn’t play fer a combined team. Fetch me spyglass! And swab the deck! Nothin' against th' MaD Blue guys, but I’m only really in th' ladder t' play with IPXers. If they wanted t' apply t' join us, that would be a different matter though.
Clarification
If we don’t have enough players, thar would be no reason why other members o' IPX couldn’t play with an adjoined team right?

But as current we don’t have a single game that everyone owns, wants t' play regularly, has an active community, has a ladder etc. etc. Shiver me timbers, I'll warrant ye! etc.
Basically we then end up with nothin' if ye be someone who wants t' play in a ladder comp somewhere (anywhere!).
I’d suggest that durin' this time playin' fer another team in ladder matches shouldn’t get up anyone’s nose. If ye want t' be part o' IPX then contribution aroun' here (social, gamin', otherwise) would still be part an' parcel o' bein' in th' team, Ya swabbie, pass the grog! But if someone wants t' play a game in a ladder, an' IPX isn’t able t' field a team.. why stop them?

The other option I think
The other option I think we’re ignorin' is not playin' in th' ladder (due t' numbers obviously) but tryin' t' organise regular games against specific teams that be worth playin' (tW’s etc…), I'll warrant ye. Games can be when we actually have th' numbers, not just when we’re challenged. We’d still get t' play as IPX, but we wouldn’t have th' headache o' always bein' short players, forfeitin' etc which is exactly th' reason I were bein' hesitant in joinin' th' ladder t' begin with.

I’m certainly not fer playin' on new, temporary or other clans. I just want t' head off any potential conflict that might end up with scallywags havin' no option t' play in th' ladder if that’s what they really want t' do without simultaneously p****in' off some other members o' IPX, yo ho, ho A best case solution would be t' recruit enough t' have a full team, but we only have a week.
As far as casual scrims go: Our opposition would all be ladder playin' clans, with weekly ladder commitments, wantin' t' play an' practice under ladder conditions. It kinda seems easier t' be in th' ladder t' me.
But as one who has done a reasonable amount o' screamin' fer players, I certainly don’t want that again either. But without th' ladder impetus I dunno if we will end up scrimmin' much. It would take a fair bit o' proactiveness.

The amount o' commitment that’s bein' displayed in this thread an' th' fact that it is bein' discussed openly an' honestly would be testament t' that.
We had some problems last season aroun' attendance an' availability which we have all recognised in one form or another an' now we be all workin' together t' try an' find some amicable options on how we can keep gamin' an' meet th' vari'us needs o' all concerned. [Begin Excuse] I’ll take me fair share o' lack o' availability, with one o' me most extremely busy workin' experience I’ve had; havin' t' travel overseas fer a month on short notice as well as a tree fallin' on me house while th' electricity were bein' bein' rewired resulted in me lacklustre availability [End]
I can’t speak fer every one else but I’m honoured t' be part o' a group with such strong commitment t' each other, providin' support an' workin' through challenges as they present themselves. Personally I love th' ladder matches we play but I just can’t promise th' time at th' moment, ye scurvey dog. I hope we get enough fer coverage but we would only be able t' do this with a reminder t' those who be on our roster, especially those we haven’t seen in a long time an'/or actively undertake some recruitin'.

That’s definitely true. I guess one o' th' drawbacks o' us not playin' in pubs as much as we used t' (at least as a large group) is we generally don’t find scallywags like this, I'll warrant ye.
Anyone who applied would go through th' normal trial period either way, but it’s not th' most fun kickin' them out if they don’t work out. Wastes everyones time too, by Blackbeard's sword. Necessary evil, but nice when it can be avoided.
So how about we try a bit more on our best solution o' gettin' our own team back up an' runnin'. Lets get out on th' pubs at th' same time this week on a high traffic night an' see if anyones worth tappin' on th' shoulder. This tends t' work best when we’ve got a bunch o' players an' we’re actually showin' what it’s like t' play with Team IPX. So we’ll obvioulsy need more than just th' few that have responded fer th' ladder here (lookin' at th' majority o' th' gamin' roster that haven’t responded yet)

Just on whether we should be
Just on whether we should be in th' ladder or not… I think if we can get th' numbers we should do it (regardless o' what some think o' th' other teams, gettin' hammered by them etc). All th' guys that say no t' th' ladder, won’t be stuck not bein' able t' play. Shiver me timbers, we'll keel-haul ye! The ladder team would still need t' prac each week, an' anyone wantin' a fun game could cannon fodder on th' other side, an' in any warm up matches etc on th' other side.
