Promod foobar (read before practice please)

Promod 0.6a is now on the servers, thanks Pinge.
There is still no match config on the servers, so I will book one now and ask Pinge to manually config it for us tonight.
So again: For practice tonight have 0.6a installed please.

Just so everyone knows what’s going on for practice tomorrow (Tuesday 5/8), here’s what is going on with the new version of etqwpro.
1. Promod 0.6 was released
2. GA gameops got it installed, but without a match config set up
3. Promod 0.6a was released
4. Everyone downloaded 0.6a and wondered why they couldn’t connect.
Currently 0.6 is still on the servers, and you have to have this installed. You can’t (as far as I can tell) reliably have 0.6 and 0.6a both installed, but you can keep 0.55 (old version) and you probably should in order to view older demos.
So, before tomorrow night, y’all should:
1. Download both 0.6 and 0.6a
2. Have 0.6 installed, ready to upgrade to 0.6a if required as GA could be fixing this “real soon now”.

Further to this, the stopwatch servers don’t have the match config running on them since this upgrade. To get it running, someone (cough) will have to run this config through the server: http://www.gamearena.com.au/forums/3323/thread.php/4750353
I think we have to ask Pinge to do it for us — we can’t. Not sure about this though.

Promod 0.6 Server

Tuesdays Prac.
I’ve invited a special guest to attend for Tuesday night, we can see how it works out with getting them ProMod installed, not sure how much luck we will have with that though. As a fall back, does any one know if there is a vanilla ETQW server we can book or lock others out with?
Obviously preferable for us to get on the ProMod version, just a shame if it doesn’t have all the config stuff setup. Perhaps we could give your server a try out that night Robag?
Also Isn’t this something Hacklin could look at anyway? He is a game-op now right?
Vanilla servers
Vanilla servers are bookable the same as promod. It’s just a good idea to keep getting used to the promod restrictions, changes, aim style etc. etc. etc. if we can.
Hak is a game op, but he hasn’t been doing much of the promod work due to uni commitments. Pinge is your man atm.

Promod update for you
I held up putting promod 0.6 on the servers for a week…just in case there was a problem.
Then I put the job in on a Friday night so it could be done early the following week.
Sunday night (USA time) they found problems on Salvage and released a new version 06a.
I didnt pick it up quick enough and so the servers ended up with a useless 0.6 mod.
I have tried for a week to get it fixed but no luck so far.
Also, the admins changed the servers to 0.6 but left all the match config at 055b.
That really fouls things up, so every match that gets booked I have to manually put a new config file in it.
So only half the job got done anyway.
As far as moving forward, I have asked for some urgency on getting 0.6a installed and the match config to suit that mod.
When will it get done… I have no idea.
If you book any servers or need any help with anything, drop me a note and I will help you if I can.
I will almost always be on COGS now and although I sit there “offline” I always have msn running.
So any drama’s, give me a yell.
I have 3 folders on my drive for 055b, 06 & 06a.
I just rename the folder in use to etqwpro and the one I dont use to etqwpro_06 or 06a etc.
I do the same for both the My Docs folders and the Program folder.
That way the demos go to the right mod.
Its a pain but it works.

Finally progress…
I think a little forum embarrassment was the eventual winner…:)
I put a note in the forums and they were onto the config in about a minute.
Anyway I now know the 06a config files are going to start up with the servers.
Now I will check them for the next few days, just to make sure, but I am happy that all should be good.
And I spoke with lt earlier so your server should be fine as well for tonight.
