Torvalds: SteamOS will "really help" Linux on desktop

Linus Torvalds has welcomed the arrival of Valve’s Linux-based platform, SteamOS, and said it could boost Linux on desktops.
The Linux creator praised Valve’s “vision” and suggested its momentum would force other manufacturers to take Linux seriously – especially if game developers start to ditch Windows.

already running something close to steamOS
i have already setup steam in BPM on my mediacenter(even has a menu entry to launch steam in mythtv) and with steam family sharing i have access to my game library w/out logging out my main machine other then switching from remote to gamepad and back to remote and that selecting controller enabled shows windows only games too its quite awesome
as a gamer i totally agree steam has been absolutely awesome for linux. now wheres my CS:GO and portal 2 :(
