QuakeCon 2013 Duel Grand Finals

Those games were fantastic! Amazing. Highly recommend watching them if you haven’t already.
I won’t say how the games went, if you want to know, watch them, because it swings around all over the place – I don’t wanna spoil the ending for you… Hehe.
For those who don’t know, both Evil and Rapha are well known quake veterans and have been playing for many years.
This tournament is Double Elimination, Rapha from the winners bracket, Evil from the losers bracket.
Because of this, in the grand final, Rapha has to win 2 games to win and Evil has to win 3 games to win.

It actually runs really well, and allows them to release updates easily.

Quake Live *is* native
It’s simply delivered as a plugin via the browser — otherwise it runs fully X86, Windows native code. It used to not run on Linux, but a quick check and it seems to with some caveats.
As for browser based 3D games… might not be as far off as you think. Open these in a (very) recent version of Chrome…

Unfortunately my laptop can’t play QW, but I’m happy to jam some q3 or ql, either one. Ql is easy and it’s much prettier. :)
