Cheers valve, for being so fucking slow and lazy. Why didn’t you get around to this 5 years ago?

Official*

*Don’t know about official, not until Valve says so, but the indications are strong that they are working on Linux support. The reporter apparently has inside knowledge, and in the past week or two people have been pulling the client apart discovering some pretty convincing evidence. I won’t hold my breath, but hopefully it won’t be too long before Valve says something.

It’s taken so long because the market isn’t an obvious one. Mac has a bigger demographic of gamers and users, and they’re only getting Steam now. Windows is a behemoth that wants to swallow all competition.
