Bored.... Day 9. What do you do when the power goes out?
Both at work, and at home.
Power went out unexpectedly over the weekend so my morning at work is turning on 5 ESX servers, and about 200 virtual machines.
At home... curse that I didn't replace the battery in the torch.
Credit where credits due: Whoever killed the damn power here.

hmm well at work nothing really changes cos we have a pair of generators that take over.
At home well not much ya can do. Sex is always a good option
well
with all the earthquakes you become immune to the power dropping out more than you would like. During the day taking the dogs to the dog park or going on a long walk out of town is always a nice option if weathers nice. Reading a book. Sex is always high on the option list. My work can’t function without power so work is usually off if the power goes out which is awesome but not. Spencer is also one of the best types of entertainment on a day with no power, babies are always a great time waster. And with all the earthquakes you could also have endless parties to drink all the beer in the fridge because you wouldn’t want it going warm! :)
LOL
@ bloods SEX comment… (you can tell your kid isn’t mobile yet!)

@ H0me
H0pe its n0t a l0ng 0utage if it is It’s fire up the BBQ and c00k all the meat in 0ur freezers I think l00sing the p0wer 2 the fridge/freezers is the hardest….
@ W0rk
Keep w0rking but in the summer the building is a h0t h0use s0 It’s d0wn t00ls and g0 h0me….
@ Mums
Fire up the generat0r and U are set 4 a g00d 10 h0urs l0nger if we tap int0 the diesel tanks and having ya 0wn water tanks 0n the pr0perty helps 2
I 0nce built a bunker but f00d rati0ns w0uld 0nly last me 4 weeks Nuclear Fall0ut requires a few years supply I’d easily run 0ut 0f f00d s0 I buld0sed it and made a bmx burn…….
n0mad
Yes I can get 0ff t0pic t00 easy
While at h0me
While at h0me, actually d0 this thing called s0cializing. Als0, m0st 0f the time, I just watch the st0rm that’s usually the cause f0r cutting 0ff the p0wer.
Used t0 play a family game 0f m0n0p0ly when we were y0unger, grew 0ut 0f that thank g0d haha
I actually haven’t had a chance t0 use my lapt0p + m0bile as a internet c0nnecti0n while the p0wers been 0ut yet ( last time was a scheduled 0utage and I was at bl00dy TAFE; where the m0bile c0nnecti0n is 10X str0nger anyway l0l ). But the system is there f0r backup, asl0ng as the cell t0wers still have juice left in them.
Enj0y the silence is an0ther thing t0 d0.. might as well c0z it w0nt last f0rever right.
But really the maj0rity 0f the time while the p0wer is 0ut, is spent waiting f0r the p0wer t0 c0me back 0n. It’s 2011, electricity is 0ur practical slave master next t0 g00gle!
Outside, watch the storm
I’m only home during the day on weekends… If there is a power cut, usually it’s at night.
Sister and I go outside at watch the storm, or check out the neighborhood. “WT? Why does he still have power!?” When the whole street is blacked out…
