Mission to Jupiter Completed

m0rnin,

I spent the last week 0n an intensive missi0n t0 Jupiter in Orbiter. The wh0le trip t00k m0re then 8 years (I think?) 0f simulated time. This venture made my previ0us Mars missi0n seem relatively easy.

The missi0n was a trip t0 the Jovian System. Touring Jupiter’s 4 maj0r m00ns. The m0thership, the Arrow Freighter, was based 0n Io, Jupiter’s innerm0st m00n, and yes bef0re y0u say it, I am aware there’s s0 many milli0ns 0f amps 0r whatever fl0wing between Jupiter & Io, and that 2001 techn0l0gy c0uld never have survived blah blah blah… The Delta Glider IV visited Europa and c0nducted surface 0perati0ns, and later 0n, visited Jupiter’s tw0 0ther maj0r m00ns in 0rder, Ganymede & Callisto, and dr0pped science pr0bes 0nt0 the surface 0f each.

Mission Breakdown

The missi0n essentially br0ke d0wn like this :

1) Launch DGIV from Earth and rendezvous with Arrow Freighter in Orbit
2) Orbital ejection from Earth to Jupiter
3) Mid Course Correction Burn
4)Orbital Insertion to Jupiter
5)Burn to Io
6) Orbital Insertion to Io
7) DGIV undock from Arrow Freighter, descent and landing on Io
8) Setup surface landing beacon for Arrow Freighter
9) Deorbit and auto-land Arrow on Io
10) Setup surface base on Io
11) DGIV Ascent to Io orbit
12) Burn to Europa
13) Orbit Insertion to Europa
14) Deorbit and landing on Europa
15) Setup inflatable module on Europa
16) Pack up and ascent to Europa orbit
17) Burn to Ganymede
18) Orbit Insertion to Ganymede
19) Drop probe on Ganymede
20) Burn to Callisto
21) Drop probe on Callisto
22) Burn to Io Orbit
23) Complete refuel of Arrow & Ascent to Orbit
24) Io Orbit Rendezvous between DGIV & Arrow
25) Docking DGIV to Arrow Freighter
26) Burn to Jupiter Orbit
27) Wait a long time (too long)
28) Orbit ejection from Jupiter towards Earth
29) Many a game of cards later
30) Mid Course Correction Burn to Earth
31) Approach to Earth & Orbital Insertion Maneuver
32) Reduce orbit height to LEO
33) Undock DGIV from Arrow Freighter in Low Earth Orbit
34) Deorbit DGIV, land at Cape Canaveral, unload crew and any cargo
35) Re-enter LEO behind & below Arrow Freighter
36) Intercept Arrow Freighter
37) Dock, transfer crew from Freighter to DGIV and undock
38) De-orbit & landing at KSC (Kennedy Space Center or Cape Canaveral)
39) Pop a f**king b0ttle 0f champas (they d0nt let us drink up there)

NOTE – There is a plane alignment maneuver before every burn towards a new target

EDIT: and n0 I did N0T land 0n a V0lcan0 0n Io. I c0uld have. BUT I DIDN’T

Epic Long Time!

It was a l0ng time that’s f0r sure hahaha. t0 n0te, it t00k me a week in real time t0 d0 this. My previ0us Mars trip really gave me the experience I needed t0 make this 0ne w0rk. What m0re can I say? It was an amazing experience, I rec0mmend y0u all try it s0metime, its a steep learning curve, but if I can d0 it then s0 can all 0f y0u!

s0 what did I miss while I was away? and wh0’s Obama???

0MG @ RANGA PM!! WTF HAPPENED D0WN HERE
