Robag H60 Install
Just a quick Blog, about my install of a Corsair H60 Water Cooler on Battelax, Workstation

All Coolmaster V8 Air Cooler
Old Cooler remove, bear and nacked CPU, time to remove the old thermal goop (do not touch it with your hands it is toxic :o)
CPU is all nice and clean
Parts for the H60 (owww so shiny)
Cooler unit installed in case, you will need to remove the PSU to make room, for the install. Case is a Antec 900 V1
Out comes the M/B to install the new retension clip, (Do Not Over Tighten)
MB/PSU/CPU Cooler fitted, time for a little tidy up in the case nearly Done
All buttoned up with an extra 80MM File to help with airflow
It Took about 2 hours with the teardown and the rebuild. the H60 is so quite, 4 out of 5 Svalbards for this peice of kit w00t

I always thought that with enough room in the case, air is still king. Water starts winning when you’re pressed for space and can’t get a nice airflow without a jetengine type of fan.
Quieter than the V8? What about temps?
Otherwise very cool, even if it is unnecessary. Especially if it’s unnecessary!

The V8 was a bit of a blowhard, the H60 is self contained, it is quiter then the other 4 system fans
I have all of the fans 4 X 80mm set to Low now
the V8 cooler would not let me put the side case fan in place.
CPU Temp is nice and stable as well. i have O/C my i7 860 to 3.2Gzh from the stock 2.8Gzh

Nice photo write up there Ro!
I have the V8 for mine, I think more for style at the start but it is a nice cooler. I think in Fuzz last computer spec out post I was mentioning that I pretty much fit all systems I build for friends now with the H60. Its cheap for the effect you get. As soon as I get around to dropping in a sandy bridge and new CPU I will be fitting a H60/H80 to mine.

You cant see the liquid at all
The pipes are solid black. If you wanted to setup that kind of cooling system you would have to buy the kits and build it yourself. The greatest thing about these coolers, is its all ready to go right out of the box. Just clip it to the CPU and screw the radiator to case and your done. Unlike the kits which are a butt load of fucking around.
