Revision of Upcomming New Releases! Cities XL, Operation Flashpoint 2, Modern Warfare 2, Borderlands from Sun, 04/10/2009 - 20:19
m0rnin all
So I’ve been waiting for a few of these games for MONTHS now. I still remember counting off 200 days till Modern Warfare 2, only about a month to go before we have MASS hype based disappointment!! bahahha
http://games.on.net/app/3771/CITIES_XL Cities XL – A new “generation” city builder, something I think those of us who always enjoyed a good game of Sim City should appreciate. Really not sure about this one, but I do reckon it is worth a shot so anybody who likes these types of games, really do encourage you to go buy a copy when it becomes available =) and hey, its NOT from Maxis! So it wont have any of their trademark noobishness, fingers crossed!! ;) PC
http://games.on.net/app/2817/Operation_Flashpoint_2_Dragon_Rising Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising – Looks like this could be one of the better more realistic military shooters we’ve seen in awhile. I actually did miss the first Flashpoint altogether, which did kind of annoy me because it sounded like exactly what I wanted in a first person game at the time. I went to ADFA Open Day back in early 2000’s and they had some network games of Operation Flashpoint running at one of the displays there, some real serious pro players were glued to those seats, and members of the general public watching over the shoulder in awe of the “realism”, hah. If you like these genre’s, but ALSO a good amount of realism in the style of gameplay, this looks like a good one for you. Me, not you!!. xD PC, PS3, 360
http://games.on.net/app/5162/Call_of_Duty_Modern_Warfare_2 – Modern Warfare 2 – More hype then Triple Espresso. I wanted the night vision goggles too. The next game in the Call of Duty series. I know some around here didn’t really appreciate it, but I thought as a fast paced “console” game it was quiet good. I wouldn’t enjoy them on the PC as much, but Modern Warfare and also to its own extent World at War, have been quiet popular in their domains, and as long as the developers play all their sequel cards juust right, they can succeed with this one working off of the solid groundwork that Modern Warfare 2’s predecessors have laid out for it. Just my personal experience is that hyped sequels don’t try hard enough. Still, for many console gamers and those who did enjoy COD4 & COD5, this should be a “buy now, ask questions later” game. Waiting to see if your friends think its good or not, might just be waiting to miss out on the fun! PC, PS3, 360
http://games.on.net/app/3210/Borderlands Borderlands – One of I think r0bag and/or n0mads suggestions. sci fi action/RPG. Ive got noo idea about this one myself! Would like one of you guys who are look forward to this game to tell us abit about it, or we could just check the vids out there on node! I obviously still have not looked into it, but am willing to give it a go! Gearbox, the developers, claim that it will be superior on the PC then on the Xbox360 or PS3. Bless the unrestricted Personal Computer. =) PC, PS3, 360

Reviews
Nice mini reviews Hashy.
As much as I try to, I’m just not that excited about Borderlands. I’ll have to try it when it comes out I guess, but I really don’t enjoy RPG’s. Sure this is a “role playing shooter”, but not quite convinced.
Modern Warfare 2 I’m sure will be great, but not sure how many of us would buy it for the PC.
Borderlands
Been keeping an eye on this for a while now…
Checkout all ya need to know here
What is exciting f0r me about this is as RPG player and enj0ying my fare share 0f FPS we finally have a game
that will tackle RPG/FPS in 1. I kn0w al0t will c0mpare this as a Fallout 3 with multiplayer but it is alot more;
s0 if they can Pull it 0ff (giggle giggle) I will be in heaven….
Also I hear that the PC versi0n is being held up :(
but c0ns0le players will get there Pie

Op Flashpoint 2
awesome, added to wishlist.
the Flashpoint and ARMA series of games are the world leaders in regards to ultra realistic squad based tactical shooters, and if you don’t have them, get every one and I swear you won’t be disapointed.
These games ARE used to train special forces soldiers
However, there is no longer any master servers (multi) for Op Flashpoint 1 and ARMA (armed assault). The single player is still revolutionary though.

OF 2 looks so nice, but ARMA2 too. Hm hard decision…
Flashpoint 2
just finished the storyline of this game and it is fantastic. First mission i charged straight at an hostile base and i got 2 steps out of the tree line and got mowed down. Great fun game. Unfortunatly the AI is a little dumb and your team gets you killed a few times but apart from that its great.
