Revision of Shock loss: Team IPX taken to the cleaners by relative unknowns "RoK" from Tue, 13/11/2007 - 21:36

In a titanic battle, and underdone Team IPX found themselves outmatched by a fighting fit Regiments of Khaos in the GA ETQW tournament. The final score of 4 – 0 didn’t do justice to the blood, sweat and tears poured into the struggle by IPX members against all the odds. After the victory, RoK is favourite for taking the grand final against a competition that just doesn’t exhude the same class.

Leading team completer of objectives, chipper, started the game under duress with a medical condition. Unfortunately the unavailability of substitutes cough*GA*cough forced him to play through in an effort appreciated by all.

IPX rookie, but already a pillar in the team, Dev1ance also played through the misfortune of being accidentally moved to Japan after an accident whilst investigating Strogg slipgate technology. He will be back on home shores soon, but several network drops were the toll paid for his unfortunate relocation.

Veteran Sha8dow made this match his final, taking the backseat to a new generation of IPXers. Leading commentators however feel that this won’t be the last seen of the long term champion and an early return from retirement, after taking some personal time with wife and child, is hotly tipped. “Artistic differences with the leadership team” was cited as the catalyst for his indefinite hiatus.

n0mad starred in the aggressor role, whilst Hashy fought along valiantly and managed to pass a Violator through a packed hockey rink during the Stanley Cup finals, resulting in mass casualties.

Fans can be assured that IPX will pick themselves up from this hickup, and be back to climb the ranks of ET:QW in the near future.

Oh yeah and...

Another two teams forfeited last night…. Maybe we’ll get a prize for just showing up with all these forfeits ;)

insane

This is just insane. I cannot believe the insanity of GA.

What happened to all the players that registered and didn’t have enough players for a team. I seem to remember GA specifically saying they wuold be allocated to teams with not enough players… So how do we have 5 forfeits in round 2, and probably 50 players who were inelible to play due to them not having enough players for a team. Something’s out of whack there.

Here’s a thought… what if they managed to forfeit everyone before the end of the tournament. Then what happens with the money…

Now it all makes sense.

Fun Was Had By All

Yes, Proud to be there……..
Even tho it was a shocking loss…….

Unfortunate

By the sounds of the write up, the score doesnt do the match justice. Unfortunate guys, but as england in the rugby proved (sorry for the analagy), even after such a defeat its always possible to rise from the ashes ad take it to them.

sorry all

i feel really bad that i missed it but unfortunately my processor got fried and had wait for the new one to come in and i just got it today so for all the ppl that are probably pissed at me right now im sorry

Bugger

Shame about the loss, shame about the processor. If it makes you feel better, I still don’t have my laptop! startrack ‘express’ totally fucked up. I’m in the process of writing a complaint letter (I seem to be doing that a lot lately…) I might possibly have it by the end of the week. Stay tuned for a possible ‘WTF with Oz’ – I’m near my frigging limit.

8800m

If they don’t get their act together soon tell them you’re cancelling the order. Then you can order the 8800m.

Alienware are the first to have it...

If you want to buy a really overpriced notebook (but with a sexy looking lid) then Alienware are launching their new lineup at 11am (US time) today (or tomorrow… can’t work out these timezones). These will be the first to have the 8800M, which based on the leaked specs is somewhere in the line of “twice as fast” as the 7950!!!!

Other tidbits that are leaked:
* 96 stream processors (versus 32 on the 7950, 112 on the 8800 desktop card equivalent)
* GDDR3 at least, but possible GDDR4 ram
* 512M ans 256M version
* Probably coming in MXMIII format, if you have an upgradeable notebook
* Draws only 35W, which is the same as my way underpowered x1600!!! This means that unlike previous high level nvidia mobile chips it will fit in a 15” notebook I think.

Well, that settles it. I’m upgrading after Christmas. I come back from holidays mid-Feb, so I’ll probably find something then. Hopefully Asus releases an upgrade the C90 or something that supports it (and other goodies, like Quad core processors).

(OK, that was me… ltmon… sorry, I guess I owe someone a beer for posting anon)
