ISP Poll

Bored. Interested to know who IPXers (and friends) use as their ISP.

I’m with node and have been since I first got ADSL in 2003. Have been very happy with them. Very reliable. You pay a little extra but from the stories I hear from other ISP’s, it can be worth it. Only time I’ve considered changing is now, and that’s just because they’re reasonably priced ADSL2+ can only be used in areas they have their agile dslams. I’m not in one, so am left with the choices:

  • $40 a month extra for the same plan I’m on now, but with ADSL2+ (uses Telstra’s dslams thus they charge more
  • Stay on ADSL1 with node
  • Change ISP’s to either iinet (not cheap) or TPG (cheap, but keep hearing reliability stories…)

Chose to stay with ADSL1 and Internode for now.

How about everyone else?

i was with

Netspace for about 2 years always good but would not give me ADSL 2+ ow btw netspace is now Iinet.
the TPG Speed is always good. the current issues is to do with their RADIUS server not keeping me logged on. i just have to keep hounding them. but this is the same with all ISP’s

Tried a few

Node was first, then Westnet had a better deal when I was at my flat. Then I went to Netspace when I first moved here, but swapped out for Node when I couldn’t keep my line stable. Well, I couldn’t keep it stable with Node either until I replaced my modem (swapping an NB6 for another NB6) and suddenly all was fine.

No complaints about any of these ISPs, but I think Internode offers the best extra services (mirrors, streams, iView) and their customer service is pretty good as well.

telstra = fail

title says it all title says it all
nar telstra are alright just a pit of a pain if u need something fixed taks the 2 weeks
