From my count we now have 11 players for this ladder. I don’t think that’s nearly enough. Several of them aren’t regular players so I feel it would fall on the same 4 or 5 players to turn up to nearly every game. Given the numbers issue from the Wolverine scrim (we got 4 out of 8 to show), I can’t see this getting better as we’ve had dropouts since then.
I’m officially dropping myself out of the ladder. If suddenly we get a commited 16 or so, I’ll be happy to reconsider. I can do without the administrative headache of trying to get players to commit to a game, and then trying to chase them or reserves up on the night if they don’t show.
I’m sorry if I have let any of you down with this, but given where we’re at I’d much prefer to spend my time on non ladder scrims and pub games.
I’m not pulling us out of the ladder, but someone will need to take over – and there will need to be enough yes votes on this to justify it.

Well i find this dissapointing that we are considering pulling out of the ladder so come on fellas get amoungst it and give it a red hot go.
It is no fun if we can,t get all the members together and show off all our tallents and stick up some of the outher sides wether they cheat or not at least we can die with honor.
I can understand that. It’s not that I don’t want to play. It’s that I’m not willing to put up with a season worth of administering this thing when we’re starting off with too few in the first place.
If the numbers were there, I’d be in. But based on the last week, they’re just not. Happy to be proved wrong by this vote.

Firstly let me say Fuzz that we are a Team and for the life of me we will continue to be a Team therefore
if you require another Captain I’ll put my hand up, if you need anything at all, I’ll put my hand up as should
every IPX Member on the GA Ladder and share the admin headache across the Team.
Is it not an IPX Members Duty ?, even if I am an Honorary Member, to help the team with anything that is
required to keep Team IPX moving forward, hey I’m committed to IPX and I know alot of us are and if you feel
overburden Fuzz we all understand as leading wasn’t meant to be easy, if it was, we would have thousands of

I’d like to add that if you need a Leader Fuzz not only I but others around you will step up to the plate

OK everyone who has offered to captain / admin ladder games now has captain privilege in the ladder (for the record that’s now – founders minus Shad & possibly me, HP, n0mad, zoomer, holdens05.)
We’ll need more than 5 yes votes though. Let’s see where this is at tomorrow before any final decisions are made. Obviously there are several players very devoted to the cause. Up until a couple of days ago I was one of them. I’m not going to drop myself off the list of players yet as I’m still to-ing and fro-ing about playing.
All the new ladder admins, you all have privileges to challenge teams. If you do, make sure you create a new challenge page (create content -> challenges) – copy and paste the content from an old challenge in and amend the details. This will create a challenge page where everyone can RSVP as per the standard process you’re all used to.
I had awesome fun in that DI match we played and I’d love for more games like that (except with more winning:P). This being my last year of uni I can say that if the time suits and I’m free I will be there! I’m also volunteering for an admin role if need be. I think we generally have a few days to respond to a ladder request (correct me if I’m wrong) so before we choose a time we could do a quick vote on the forum and see peoples reactions. If we find that we don’t have enough people to suit any of the times given then no biggee we simply forfeit that game and wait for a new one to come around.
If we aim for a 70% target of competing this time around in the ladder I think that’d be great. We all have busy lives and unlike some of the teenage kids on the ladder who are available every night all night for a majority of us that isn’t possible. I say we stay in the ladder, do the best we can to make it most of the games and try and have fun while were at it:)

but realistically, how committed will you all be when faced with the possible situation of being on the bottom of the ladder and consistantly losing?
If people Really want to do this… I want a promise from everyone, and i mean EVERYONE…..

below is the current IPX gaming roster… some want to play more then others, which is fine. but we are a team. A team which has had the philosophy since long ago “one in…. All in!”
so its not about wanting to play… its about standing up together as team.
those who don’t want to play very much, can be supportive and play in the tough times.

While I think we will probably inhabit the lower part of the ladder (partially because there’s no 13 yr olds in the team with ridiculous ninja twitch reflexes, or cheaters…), I think that the ladder is still a viable option with the current votes (my vote makes for 8:3 for the ladder).
I can tell you now that I won’t be available for every single game (and I don’t expect anyone to be able to do that) but I will play when I can, hopefully more than I’ve been able to in the past week or so.
We will win some, we will lose some. Regardless, I want to have FUN in this ladder, as I try to do in every IPX venture. If you can make it to the game, excellent, if you can’t, let a captain (pretty much anyone =p ) know asap and we can try to sort something around it.

I don’t have any foresee any issue’s with being the bottom of the ladder, as long as we are having fun. There is more to life than this game, don’t get me wrong – I really enjoy it but like Kazzoza I doubt I’ll be available for every single game. I hate letting people down and will ensure every one is across whats happening. Those that I do play, I know I’ll enjoy – regardless of the score.
I’m happy to do the mothers club ring pyramid ring around if every one else is, for those times when we need an answer quick and every one isn’t online.
When this stops being about having fun and catching up with friends – I’ll be out & hopefully that never happens.

I also dont mind being bottom of the ladder, as long as we are improving.
The best way to get good is to play against people who are better, I cant really see us losing being much of an issue so long as we learn from our mistakes.
I do think we need a regular practice session, if we are going to play on the ladder we really need to amp up our tactics and team play.
So taking that we have 9-3 in favor of playing as-at now; can I take it that we wont be rescinding our place on the ladder and will instead continue to fight on?
The team is now activated as the deadline for that must be close. That 9-3 number is going to drop by at least one unless Shad changes his mind on requiring everyone to play for him to play.
As far as I’m concerned there’s too many people who want to give it a go regardless of numbers to pull the plug on this – so go nuts :)

Zoomer – that guy who applied to be in the ladder out of the blue – he’s been emailed and asked to apply for honorary membership if he wants to play for us in the ladder. No response as yet. He’ll probably miss the deadline though.
