Just played for 3hrs, WOW
very intense, played the battlecommander “frontlines” mode, progressive frontline, u lose u fall back, u win u move forward. basically u win u move forward in the area, then lose, ur back at the middle area for round 3.
The battlepoints system works incredibly well. buy what u want (when u unlock it, decent amount of unlocks for the people that like that sorta thing), say u equip slot one flak jacket, slot 2 wolverine drone… press 4 at any time during the match (if u have the battle points) to equip flak jacket = take more damage. 5 to outlay a drone, drones arent very very powerful, but theres infantry unlocks to increase drone speed and health. also to reduce the price of equipment.
so far unlocking the m4 weapons accessories, up to get 25 kills unlocks acog sites. currently got underbarrell shotgun. Ive got one knife kill in the entire 3 hrs, caught a guy running through the door. Its NOT close combat run around knife people, feels fast, u die quickly, my longest kill streak is 4. didnt even become a level 2 threat.
to compare bf and cod, its more similar to cod with vehicles… but its been more fun in 3hrs then ive ever had with any cod.
The gfx arent anything fancy, im not sure what engine its using but its definitely not looking like unreal 3. But the gameplay is rock solid and outstanding fun. U get sniped from across the map occasionally, i dont know if thats good or bad, good that u can prone and snipe and as ud expect 1 shot from a sniper rifle is death, bad that its like hey what just got me, no kill cam, zooms to killers view.
Ill never play cod again as long as homefront fills in the gap until bf3.
My score, (my first fps was wolfenstein in dos, not halo or codmw2 :P) about 7.5. graphics let it down, but a stellar game. like kaos learnt from frontlines and re did the whole thing. the gameplay is pretty sublime, but as joker said, they really need to add the slightest bit extra health. not a lot, but just made 1 more bullets worth!
