Competive BF3 news

Hey Guys

lust a MSG to let you guys know that after talking to the team on mumble tonight, we have decided to pull the 8V8 team form the Battlefield 3 ANZ Battlegrounds Summer Season and also the 10V10 ladder on cybergamer .

However this will now allow us to enter the “4V4”: and 8V8 ladder on cybergamer.

This decision is sound and has my personal support! (while I’m bummed about the 10v10 and think I would have liked to stay in that ladder)
Thsi decision was made by those senior members of the IPX gaming team, not the BoD. It was/is those who play the games choice! However I personally commend them for their efforts and the courage and strength to make this decisions, and if anyone wants to take thw tinw to read it, explain in my view Why I personally believe this decision is a good one (noting I wasn’t involved in the decision making process) A multitude of reasons, and while there are some very good arguements for remaining in the comps (such as “we must play to improve” and “we get better from playing better teams”), all valid arguements, I’m going to focus more on the positives of “reducing our gaming commitment”
With fail setup/co-ordination/administrators (by comp providers… If you can call them providers (not even supplying game servers), it would be incorrect of us to continue to support a system which is administratively, in my view, incorrect – if people accpet this poor system here; it will continue to grow and spread and become the norm… Gah that would be bad!
We are a little more “social gaming focused” then the extremist competitors of which were pitched against. We were, due to the “challenge down the ladder for points” system, we were being picked on and used as a points whipping boy! This is a poor reflection on the teams who abused our love of the game for points sake.
Losing is good, you learn, but continous losing does have its negative effects on moral and desire to play! If we loss our “love” or desire to play, it’s bad for us, and the rest of the teams in the ladder.. Why? We drop out!
We probably over committed for our numbers/commitment level players to sustain 4 comps simultaneously – not a negative, just a reality really of our teams composition/numbers of people with the game/skill levels (this is evident by team prac attendance and also the filling of challenge tables)

Anyway they were some quick thoughts. I have more and I’m sure you can think of heaps too!
To take away, we are still playing… Better selecting comps etc which suit us… Still having fun (which is what it’s about)

Shad – Supporting the gaming team Admin/Captains/Senior members and the overall decision!
(this was gunna be a WTF with shad… But I’m at work and thought it more important to put out ASAP after thinking abOut It overnight rather then wait till tonight!

pretty good

effort last night considering we had never scrimed that map and we strated the wrong map. There are 10 of us that should have picked that up. We could stop pubbing as much and start scrimin more, might help, only if thats what we want.

Well it seems i have missed a lot

But i completely agree with pulling out . Some nights we struggle to crew which is not ideal . Good decision

yep

part of the reason I joined a team was to scrim with you fullas, pub playing doesn’y help make us better as a team

Organised scriming

Organised scriming is important to get team dynamics, unless your pubstacking! Even then though you need to challenge coordinated opponents!

yeah part of it was me

I just have a lot going on IRL atm and I have made a couple of fuck ups. But that being said with dropping the Aw ladder and going to CG it will be easier to manage. It will also be easier with the drop in numbers for the 8v8 and 4v4.
At the end of the day I would love to scrim more and get better(thats why we play comp), we dont play to smash teams, thats not what we are about. Some of the best game I have played in have been with teams at our skill level., where you dont know what the outcome is going to be. Like in the games we have with rV. or when we use to play BC2 with MooShuu.

I like shads quote “Losing is good, you learn, but continous losing does have its negative effects on moral and desire to play!” this was the exact reason I asked the question last night. We NO longer had fun in that comp.

I will apologize to you guys for some of the rage I have had in some of the recent matches, I’m just having a hard time adjusting to my new “home life” as it is. Its getting better but I was making an arse of myself in matches and being a little bit short with some of you guys.

at the end of the day I want to play and I want to win but not at the cost of the enjoyment of the comp itself.

good work matt

on getting the scrim against fortis x tonight, was pretty good scrimming them, hopefully we can get some more games with them
It’s definitely worthwhile trying to improve, but anyways it’s just a game, no point getting too down about the losses
