Revision of MM strips a bike! from Sun, 28/02/2010 - 19:32
This is what I got up to this weekend!
So a friend and I are building a go kart. We find a perfect motor off trade me (NZ ebay), and it was brand new! Turns out rather than a single cylinder engine with all the electrics, it was a twin cylinder overhead cam than was going to cost another $300 to get running. We sold it back to the guy, and though “Why not buy a complete working motorbike?”. So we did. Then we completely attacked it, and robbed parts from it. The 1998 125cc Suzuki Mudbug is now in many pieces in my garage…
We rode it around for a bit, and then we decided to pull it apart…
The heart of the beast, no longer beating as we turned it off before we started pulling it apart. We plan to defib it in the near future.
But if you though we were done there, you were way wrong!
The bike’s not getting up after that one…
All packed away ready for next weekend…
If you want to see a few more details (not many really…), go here# to see the whole album. I still need to get some more of the original photos back. On the other computer…

cool
I had one of them (actually 2… of both) and we did the whole turn the mini bike into a go kart.
problem was places to ride them were few and far between… they spent 51 weeks of the year in my grand parents garage!
good fun tho
best of luck too you!

0hh and a g00d thr0tlle cable is a must, br0ke a few in my day….
How?
How the heck did you break a throttle cable? Was good fun, can wait till we get the sprocket. After that it is a matter of bolting the engine in place, and sizing the chain.
Led f00t
Being a led f00t …..

I love the “grinding whilst in appropriate footwear”

Nope, the ear muffs are grade 4, and the safety glasses are polycarbonate.
