Revision of ET:QW Configs from Wed, 25/06/2008 - 21:25
Howdy Fellas
For those who wernt at “training” lastnight or for those who didnt take it seriously. Tweaks/Configs (a way to cheat within an allowable threashold) are used by 99% of teams 99.9% of the time. We are the 1%! Now I know some of us use configs more then others, then there are those amongst us who don’t use any at all. Maybe its something we need to look into? I’m not saying configs are the be all and end all or that they are going to compensate against your “PD” or lack of aim, but they can “even” the playing field.
Whats a Config? whats an Autoexec.cfg? Well I suggest we discuss it!
So what an I going to do?
Start us off down the right track… I have a program which I can send you (until I find a way to upload it somewhere). This is a simple program which will allow you to make a config and action some basic/important configs. Its user friendly and just lets you tick the boxes and it will “write” the appropriate config for you.. send me a message and ill send it too you so you can give it a go (or can someone let me know how to upload a .Zip file to the site somewhere?)
Remember you can make multiple configs for vanilla, promod etc.
So what am I looking for from you? Easy… lets start a resource of configs/list some sites which detail whats good/attach some programs. I’ll start:

Hey Shad, a few of us have
Hey Shad, a few of us have been adding useful stuff like this to http://teamipx.net/gaming/useful+gaming+resources maybe link or add this there?
Good idea chip. Lets move
Good idea chip. Lets move the stuff over there, and this blog post can be the link to it. No point starting from scratch each time we have an idea
Edit: done. Moved the configs to http://teamipx.net/gaming/useful+gaming+resources/team+ipx+etqw+configs where everyone can edit it, and it’s a bit more of a well organised / permanent location and
left this page with instructions and the link to it.
Pro Mod
Was some one going to psot the details of what we had to get for the next ladder match?
how about you?
my only issue with it being there is NO ONE is going to see/use it
but we will give it a go
Well they should. Putting it
Well they should. Putting it in this weeks blog post might get people active on it until it drops off the front page, but after that it will just get lost and go nowhere. I think the lesson here is not to accept that just because no-one bothers to contribute to areas of the site like that, doesn’t mean the solution is to give up and try to do it in a less logical way. Gaming stuff belongs under the gaming section (otherwise why have it…), trek stuff belongs in the trek section… etc etc etc. And the only reason they wouldn’t see it, is if they didn’t bother enough to even look through our own site (which should be a requirement of being part of the team imo). When some new guy joins the team and we want to show him all the stuff we have on gaming we shouldn’t have to send him 15 blog links. Just point him to the gaming sectoin – here’s all the info we deem useful enough for you to know.
I think those that do get it, and do bother to contribute (and there’s several of us including both of us) should be pushing it on the rest to be chipping in and doing it in a logical way.
so the question to everybody is...
ARE YOU CHIPPING IN?
