New maps for Padman

Space Bat

“A bat that was clinging to space shuttle Discovery’s external fuel tank during the countdown to launch the STS-119 mission remained with the spacecraft as it cleared the tower, analysts at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center concluded.

Based on images and video, a wildlife expert who provides support to the center said the small creature was a free tail bat that likely had a broken left wing and some problem with its right shoulder or wrist. The animal likely perished quickly during Discovery’s climb into orbit.”

Aussie Flying Foxes dont have this problem ;p

Somebody during the post docking media + teleconference asked about it, weather or not they had seen it in pictures taken of the tank after it had reached orbit.

The bat has not been seen since the shuttle cleared the tower.

A giant fossil sea monster found in the Arctic and known as “Predator X” had a bite that would make T-Rex look feeble, scientists said.

The 15-metre long Jurassic era marine reptile had a crushing 15 tonnes per square inch bite force, the Natural History Museum of Oslo University said of the new find on the Norwegian Arctic archipelago of Svalbard.

“With a skull that’s more than 3 metres long you’d expect the bite to be powerful but this is off the scale,” said Joern Hurum, an associate professor of vertebrate paleontology at the museum who led the international excavation in 2008.

“It’s much more powerful than T-Rex,” he said of the pliosaur reptile that would have been a top marine predator. Tyrannosaurus Rex was a top land carnivore among dinosaurs.

The scientists reconstructed the predator’s head and estimated the force by comparing it with the similarly-shaped jaws of alligators in a park in Florida.

On a second note, I have it on the best of authorities that if still possible we will be challenged by Ool, and we can hopefully set a date for sunday for a great scrim.

Change in the Team IPX Management Structure

Commencing forthwith Team IPX will be governed by the Team IPX Board of Directors. AKA Team IPX BoD or just BoD

The board is responsible for the Management, Administration, Maintenance, Growth, Development and Decision Making of all Team IPX Online aspects & functions. (ie, Website & Gaming etc)

The former Team IPX founders structure still remains for all non Online aspects

The reasons for these moves is to support the decisions & lifestyles of individuals who cannot continue to be responsible for all of the facets of Team IPX.

There will be no division of the Team. It is envisaged that there will be minimal change/impacts on the daily functions of Team IPX and it is highly likely the majority of the Team will notice no disruption at all.
As with the changes, please continue to direct all issues to the Team IPX email account teamipx@gmail.com or discuss issues online issues with the BoD members via IRC as normal.

The following person(s) has been terminated and is/are no longer affiliated with Team IPX

The reasons for the terminations are based around: Inactivity on the Site and IRC other IPX functions for an extended period without explanation.

Left 4 Dead Update Released

March 12, 2009, 12:43 pm – Valve – Product Update

Updates to Left 4 Dead have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Left 4 Dead

* Fixed sv_search_key appearing in server browser
* Fixed issue where changing the sv_search_key did not update the master correctly
* Fixed master server issue with Linux fork mode that affected availability of Valve dedicated servers
* Tank melee attack can now hit multiple Survivors in one swing
* Missed from the previous list changes: Fixed acheivements to match stats. Past achievements not previously awarded will be shown in the game UI
